Benefits releases new single "Blame" before album launch
Benefits, a punk duo from Teesside, have released a new single called "Blame." This song is a sneak peek of their upcoming album titled "Constant Noise," which will be released tomorrow, March 21. The album follows their debut, "NAILS," from 2023. The duo worked with James Welsh on the track, blending electronic and dance influences. The lyrics focus on the distorted realities shaped by media. Vocalist Kingsley Hall shared how the song was quickly developed from a demo sent by their bandmate Robbie. The release comes with an energetic music video, filmed at night with local filmmaker John Kirkbride. "Blame" is the latest addition to their growing collection of singles, which includes tracks like "Divide" and "Relentless." Benefits will be going on a UK headline tour in April, making tickets accessible with a price cap of £12. They plan to start the tour with in-store gigs to celebrate their album release. In a past interview, Hall emphasized the band's mission to engage with urgent social and political issues through their music. He also mentioned the impact of new drummer Cat Myers on their sound, highlighting their diverse musical influences.
