Bengaluru couple faces allegations of financial and abuse disputes

A software professional in Bengaluru has filed a complaint against his wife, claiming she demands money for intimacy. He alleges that his wife uses threats, blackmail, and physical abuse to control him. The man, named Srikanth, married Bindushree in August 2022 after meeting on a matrimonial site. In his complaint, Srikanth said Bindushree's family made financial demands before and after their wedding. He claims he sent ₹3 lakh to his mother-in-law and another ₹50,000 for wedding expenses. Despite being married for over two years, Srikanth alleges Bindushree has refused to be physically intimate unless he pays her ₹5,000 daily. Srikanth also stated that she threatens to harm herself if he tries to get close to her. He accused her of attempting to hurt him and said her family pressured him for ₹75,000 a month to help pay their home loan. He mentioned that her disruptive behavior while he worked from home has caused him to lose his job, and he has recordings of these incidents. In response, Bindushree filed a counter complaint accusing Srikanth and his family of domestic abuse. She claims she was treated poorly and harassed over dowry issues. She alleged that Srikanth's family suggested they install a camera in their bedroom and made disturbing comments about her future. Bindushree left for her parent's home but returned, hoping to resolve their issues. The police are now investigating both complaints. Srikanth mentioned that a psychiatrist recommended they consider a mutual divorce, which Bindushree has reportedly agreed to.
