Bengaluru faces severe waterlogging and traffic disruptions
Bengaluru experienced significant waterlogging on Sunday morning due to heavy rain, affecting many areas. The rain caused disruptions on major roads, including Outer Ring Road (ORR), Hebbal, Bellandur, Silk Board, and Manyata Tech Park. The downpour also led to the fall of 30 trees and 42 branches in neighborhoods like Jayanagar, Yelahanka, and East Bengaluru. These fallen trees blocked roads, making travel difficult for many commuters. On JC Road, a fallen tree disrupted traffic heading toward Town Hall and City Market. Authorities advised drivers to find alternative routes. Options included Minerva Circle, Basappa Circle, and Bharat Junction through Urvashi Theatre Junction. In Koramangala, a fallen tree on 60-ft Road prompted diversions for those traveling toward 80-ft Road. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Bengaluru and Kempegowda International Airport received about 5 cm of rain by late Saturday night. Looking ahead, IMD's senior scientist CS Patil stated that temperatures in Bengaluru are expected to be between 34°C and 36°C for the coming week.
