Bennett University launches ADR conclave for legal education

Bennett University’s School of Law launched the Vikalp Anveshanam 1.0: Bennett ADR Conclave, 2025. The event focuses on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and features competitions like client counseling and quizzes. Hon’ble Shri Justice Dipak Misra, former Chief Justice of India, was the Chief Guest. In his speech, he stressed the importance of ADR in today’s legal environment. He compared litigation to physical pain, stating that people involved in disputes seek quick resolution, just as a person in pain seeks relief. Justice Misra highlighted mediation as a crucial tool for resolving conflicts. He explained how it helps restore harmony in various areas, including commercial, property, and matrimonial disputes. He also shared a memorable example of a late-night Lok Adalat session that showcased his commitment to justice. The ceremony, organized by the Clinics Committee of the School of Law, sets the tone for meaningful discussions during the conclave. This event aims to prepare future legal professionals for the challenges of dispute resolution in India and beyond. The conclave is scheduled to end on March 29, 2025.
