Berks County seeks two fugitives for theft charges

The Berks County sheriff’s office is looking for two fugitives. Both individuals are wanted for serious crimes. Jonathan Montilla-Diaz is 44 years old and last lived on Schuylkill Avenue in Reading. He faces charges for theft by deception, receiving stolen property, and bad checks. In February 2023, he allegedly issued a fake check for $2,599 to buy auto parts. He is also wanted for insurance fraud by the state attorney general's office. Montilla-Diaz is described as 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 200 pounds. Krista Norton is 40 years old and was last known to live on Meade Street in Williamsport. She is wanted for felony retail theft. In early February, Norton reportedly took an item worth $130 from the Excitement Video Store without paying. Since this is her fifth retail theft charge, it is classified as a felony. Norton is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs around 150 pounds. Authorities urge anyone with information about these fugitives to contact the Berks County sheriff’s office at 610-478-6390.
