Berlin Brothersvalley girls reach PIAA Class 2A final
Berlin Brothersvalley girls' basketball team has reached the PIAA Class 2A championship game after defeating Mountain View 41-38 in a semifinal match. Coral Prosser, a standout sophomore guard, scored all 16 of her team's points in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Earlier in the season, Berlin Brothersvalley won the Inter-County Conference title and is looking to build on their success. The team, with a record of 27-2, has an impressive 25-game winning streak. They will face Bishop McCort Catholic in the final. Coral Prosser, already a notable player with over 1,000 career points, highlighted her team’s confidence and defensive efforts. She scored a total of 31 points in the semifinal, including a strong performance at the free-throw line. Coach Rachel Prosser praised her players for their hard work and dedication to reach the title game. In the fourth quarter of the semifinal, Mountain View briefly took the lead before Berlin's defense and Coral's scoring helped them regain control. Mountain View, led by junior Addison Kilmer, struggled with turnovers and could not keep pace with Berlin's high-pressure defense. As Berlin Brothersvalley prepares for the championship, Coral emphasized the importance of defense. They hope to carry their momentum into the final against Bishop McCort, a team known for high-scoring games. The Mountaineers are determined to compete for the title and continue their winning streak.
