Bernie Sanders supports Elon Musk's call to cut Pentagon budget after audit failures

Sanders noted the Pentagon's failure to pass its seventh audit, highlighting issues of waste and mismanagement. Musk, who is involved in a new government efficiency initiative, received support from other lawmakers, including Democratic Rep. Mo Khanna. Khanna pointed out the need to address waste in the Department of Defense and expressed willingness to collaborate with Musk's efforts. In addition to defense spending, both Sanders and Musk have shown interest in lowering the prices of diabetes and weight loss medications. They have criticized high U.S. prices compared to those in other countries, attributing the disparity to corporate greed.
