Bharat Bhushan Ashu discusses bypoll strategies in Punjab

Bharat Bhushan Ashu, a former Punjab minister, met with Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi ahead of the Ludhiana West by-election. Ashu is a two-time MLA and currently a candidate for the Congress party in this election. He expressed optimism about a "winds of change" coming from the constituency, suggesting it will help sweep the Congress to victory in Punjab by 2027. The bypoll is being held because Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi passed away in January. The AAP has already chosen its candidate, Sanjeev Arora, who is a member of the Rajya Sabha. During the meeting, Ashu criticized the AAP government, claiming that the upcoming election is about more than just votes. He argued that Punjab is struggling and facing serious issues, such as rising crime and poor governance. Ashu stated that people in Punjab are confused about who is really in charge, questioning whether it is Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann or AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.
