Bhiwandi announces Rs 1,097 crore budget for development
The Bhiwandi Nizampur City Municipal Corporation (BNCMC) has announced a budget of Rs 1,097 crore for the fiscal year 2025-26. The budget focuses on urban beautification, cleanliness, healthcare improvements, and digital education. BNCMC Commissioner Anmol Sagar presented the budget, highlighting key areas of development. He noted that the budget aims to balance development needs with the corporation's income. The administration also plans to raise funds through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Sagar said there is great potential for beautification in Bhiwandi. A dedicated task force will work on this campaign, holding regular meetings to monitor progress. He emphasized that improving city cleanliness is a top priority, with specific budget provisions for this purpose. Tax collection, an essential revenue source, has not been emphasized in past years. This year, the administration aims to maximize tax revenue. The budget includes plans for enhancing healthcare, such as starting an outpatient department (OPD) at BGP Hospital and developing a new well-equipped hospital. In the education sector, the BNCMC plans to introduce digital classrooms to improve student learning. Additionally, an e-office system is being developed for better management and transparency. The budget also addresses environmental concerns by setting goals for parks and cemeteries. Furthermore, it outlines plans to improve footpaths, regulate traffic, and enhance major squares in the city.
