Bicol evacuates over 177,000 as Super Typhoon Pepito approaches
LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities in Bicol have evacuated 177,189 people as Super Typhoon Pepito approaches. The evacuation, ordered on November 15, affects families in vulnerable homes across all six provinces in the region. As of November 16, significant numbers of evacuees include 80,804 from Albay and 54,809 from Sorsogon. Local officials have warned that no rescue operations will be conducted during the storm. Sea travel has been suspended, leaving nearly 2,000 passengers stranded at various ports. Pepito has intensified, with maximum winds of 185 kilometers per hour and is moving west-northwest at 25 kilometers per hour.
