Biden administration rates Israel's aid efforts to Gaza as inadequate before deadline
The Biden administration has given Israel a "fail" grade for its efforts to improve aid delivery to Gaza amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller stated that Israel has not met the conditions set by U.S. officials, with only nine days left until the deadline.
In mid-October, U.S. officials requested Israel to allow at least 350 trucks per day to deliver essential supplies to Gaza. However, the United Nations reported an average of only 71 trucks entering the region by the end of October.
Additionally, Israel's Foreign Ministry announced it would cancel a 1967 agreement with the U.N. that supports the operations of UNRWA, claiming the agency is part of the problem in Gaza. UN officials emphasized the importance of UNRWA's work in the region.
