Biden administration rushes to send aid to Ukraine before Trump takes office
The Biden administration is working to send a significant aid package to Ukraine before Donald Trump takes office in January. Concerns are rising that a Trump presidency may reduce U.S. support for Ukraine amid ongoing Russian advances. Currently, about $9 billion in previously approved aid remains to be sent. This includes $4.3 billion from a recent weapons transfer authority and additional funds for new weapons purchases. However, it is uncertain how much aid will arrive before the inauguration. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed frustration over delays in aid delivery, with only 10% of promised support received. Past delays in U.S. assistance have allowed Russian forces to gain ground in Ukraine.
