Biden approves long-range missiles for Ukraine as Russia intensifies missile and drone attacks

A Russian missile strike on a building in Sumy, Ukraine, killed eight people, including two children, and injured dozens. This attack is part of a larger missile and drone assault targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure, described as the most intense in months. In a significant development, President Joe Biden has authorized the use of long-range missiles by Ukraine to strike inside Russia. This marks the first time such weapons will be used, following previous permissions for shorter-range systems. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Russia launched 120 missiles and 90 drones in the recent attack. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 144 of these targets, but damage to energy infrastructure was reported across the country, including casualties in Mykolaiv and Odesa.
