Biden approves Ukraine's use of long-range ATACMS missiles to target deeper into Russia
U.S. President Joe Biden has approved the use of long-range Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) rockets by Ukraine, allowing strikes deep into Russia. This decision follows pressure from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and comes amid North Korea's military support for Russia. ATACMS missiles can hit targets up to 190 miles away and are equipped with advanced guidance systems. Previously, Ukraine was limited to using Storm Shadow missiles against Russian targets within Ukraine and Crimea, but now they can potentially target deeper into Russian territory. Russian officials have warned that this move could escalate the conflict, suggesting it may involve NATO directly. They argue that using these missiles would change the nature of the war, indicating a significant shift in the dynamics of the ongoing conflict.
