Biden permits Ukraine to use long-range missiles against targets in Russia
The U.S. has allowed Ukraine to use long-range ATACMS missiles against targets deep inside Russia. This decision follows Russia's involvement of North Korean troops in the conflict and comes after months of requests from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. U.S. officials described this as a significant policy change, aimed at countering the Russian-North Korean offensive in Kursk province. Ukraine plans to launch its first long-range attacks soon, despite having limited missile stocks. France and Britain have also agreed to permit Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with their long-range missiles. This shift in support occurs as President Biden seeks to bolster Ukraine's position before potential changes in U.S. leadership.
