Big Rigs may launch on Steam in 2025
A game known for being one of the worst ever made may soon be available on Steam. Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing, released in 2003, has a very low Metacritic score of only 8 out of 100. SteamDB shows a new listing for Big Rigs, with a planned release date in the second quarter of 2025. The game’s description invites players to experience “brake jamm’in, CB talk’in, convey roll’in action across America.” Players will be able to haul loads and race against opponents on five different tracks. Originally developed by Stellar Stone, the game's publisher this time is Margarite Entertainment, which has little information available online. Given that April Fool’s Day is approaching, there is some speculation that this listing might be a prank. If the listing is real, it would bring back a game that has become infamous in gaming history. Critics have described Big Rigs as terrible, pointing out major flaws like a lack of collision detection and opponents that don’t move. Gaming website GameSpot gave it a score of 1 out of 10 in their review. The review highlighted how bad the game is, stating, “It is so disturbingly bad that even its budget price tag seems like a slap in the face.” The game is also known for its awkward victory screen that simply reads “YOU’RE WINNER” whenever the player wins a race.
