Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing returns to Steam
Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing is returning to gaming 22 years after its original release. The infamous PC racing game will be available on Steam in 2025. Known as one of the worst video games ever made, the game is being brought back by Margarite Entertainment. The company believes that Big Rigs is a "classic trucking game" and plans to celebrate its "triumphant return." However, the game had many serious flaws when it was first launched in 2003, failing to meet its promises. Developed by Stellar Stone and released by GameMill Publishing, the original game featured a broken artificial intelligence. The computer-controlled trucks did not move, and players could drive through mountains and buildings due to faulty physics. In fact, players could even reverse at incredible speeds of up to 2 million miles per hour. Big Rigs also became famous for its end screen that congratulated players with the message "YOU'RE WINNER !" Some issues were fixed in a later patch, but many initial problems remained. The game had promised features like "hauling loads," but players could not see or know what was being carried in trucks. It remains uncertain whether Margarite Entertainment understands the nature of the game. Their website states they focus on acquiring classic games. For now, Big Rigs is the only title they have announced. As the 2025 release approaches, fans can expect a mix of nostalgia, humor, and memes surrounding the game's poor quality.
