Bihar inmate receives teaching appointment while handcuffed
Vipin Kumar, an inmate in Beur Jail, received a teacher appointment letter after passing the Bihar Public Service Commission exam. He has been in jail for 18 months due to allegations under the POCSO Act. Kumar attended the ceremony in handcuffs, where he was handed the letter by government officials. He has been selected to teach general subjects for grades one to five. Despite his new position, Kumar's employment is uncertain pending a court verdict.
