Bihar student suicide prompts protests for fair investigation
A 21-year-old female student at Government Engineering College in Sheohar, Bihar, has reportedly died by suicide. Officials said the girl was a final year engineering student from Muzaffarpur district. She was found hanging in her hostel room on Saturday. The college administration notified local authorities after the incident. A police team and medical personnel quickly arrived at the scene. The body has been taken to the mortuary for further examination. Following the tragic event, fellow students held a protest at the college. They are demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. Senior Superintendent of Police, Shailesh Kumar Sinha, stated that they received the report around 8 p.m. and described the case as a possible suicide. Family members, including the victim's father, arrived at the college later that night. He has also called for a fair inquiry into the incident. An investigation is currently ongoing, and more information is expected soon.
