Bikramjit Singh builds Rs 100 crore organic farming empire
Bikramjit Singh, a young farmer from Ludhiana, Punjab, has created a successful organic farming business worth Rs 100 crore. He uses advanced agricultural technology and innovative methods to empower local farmers, proving that farming can be a profitable venture. Bikramjit's journey into agriculture started after he graduated in 2005. He initially worked in an insurance company while farming on a small plot of land. After some struggles, including losses with pomegranates, he shifted to lemon farming. Although he earned an MBA and worked in banking, his passion for farming led him to quit his job in 2014 to focus on agriculture. He expanded his organic farm to 200 acres, cultivating various crops like fruits, wheat, and vegetables. Bikramjit now supports 600 farmers across 8,000 acres, ensuring they receive good prices for their produce. He also founded 'Healthy Earth,' offering over 216 organic products and launching organic food restaurants featuring nutritious dishes. Bikramjit aims to inspire young people in Punjab to stay and work at home instead of moving abroad. Through his organization, 'Generation of Farming,' he is helping create job opportunities in agriculture and retail. He plans to open 100 restaurants and grocery stores, focusing on making organic food affordable. His success highlights how modern technology and smart management can transform agriculture into a thriving business. Bikramjit's story serves as an encouraging example for young farmers, showing that farming can lead to significant achievements and reshape the future of agriculture in India.
