Bergey had been battling jaw cancer since 2021 and was open about his health struggles. Bergey played for the Eagles from 1974 to 1980, earning five Pro Bowl selections and becoming a fan favorite. He was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2009 and recorded nearly 1,200 tackles during his career.
