Bill Gates praises India's 'Viksit Bharat' mission's global impact

Gates highlighted India's digital public infrastructure, like Aadhaar and UPI, as key contributions globally. During a media event in New Delhi, Gates discussed how focusing on health and education is vital for India’s future. He mentioned that economic growth could lead to more government investment in these areas, opening up many new opportunities. On the topic of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Gates said that advancements could help provide food and healthcare without the current level of labor. In a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stressed the importance of AI and digital systems in transforming healthcare, education, and agriculture. PM Modi shared that their conversation included various topics like technology and sustainability for future generations. The India AI Mission and the Gates Foundation plan to collaborate on projects to enhance public services and develop sustainable solutions. Gates also met with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to discuss agricultural advancements. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that Microsoft and the Gates Foundation aim to make Maharashtra a leading example of digital governance in India.
