Billboard hosts event celebrating Spain's music industry
Billboard held a special event in Madrid to celebrate Spain's music industry on March 18. Over 100 music executives, artists, and creators attended the gathering at the rooftop of Gynko, located in Hotel VP Plaza España Design. The event marked the release of Billboard's Spotlight on Spain, featured in the magazine's March 8 issue. It also highlighted significant achievements in the Spanish music industry, which saw record revenues, streaming numbers, and ticket sales in the past year. Leila Cobo, Billboard's Chief Content Officer for Latin/Español, emphasized the company's commitment to supporting Spanish music. “We want to be part of your story and amplify your voices," she stated. The event attracted notable figures from the music industry, including executives from Sony Music, Universal, and Amazon Music Spain. Various artists also attended, such as multi-Latin Grammy nominee Rosana and singer Álvaro de Luna, showcasing the diversity of Spain’s creative scene. Guests enjoyed the celebration, with plenty of music industry leaders and artists mingling and sharing their experiences. The event concluded with a strong sense of community and support for the future of Spanish music.
