The Hare's Corner initiative has created 1,600 new habitats and is expanding to more regions, including Limerick, Carlow, Sligo, and Offaly. It encourages landowners and community groups to restore land for nature with expert advice and funding. Kate Meleady transformed her four acres in west Clare into a thriving ecosystem with help from the project. She established an orchard, a mini woodland, and a pond, which attracted diverse wildlife and improved her connection to the environment. The project aims to support landowners who want to contribute to biodiversity. Many are interested in creating ponds, which have proven to be beneficial for wildlife and personal well-being. Community gardens and native plantings are also being developed in partnership with local organizations.
