BioVanta offers plant-based treatment for cold symptoms

Dr. Nazlie Latefi is a scientist working on a new treatment for cold and flu symptoms. She is developing BioVanta, a plant-based drug that targets inflammation. Inflammation is a key factor in making people feel sick during respiratory illnesses. Dr. Latefi's path to this research was not planned. She initially studied adhesion molecules in the brain. However, she found that these same molecules also relate to respiratory viruses. This surprising connection changed her focus to respiratory inflammation. Through her work, Dr. Latefi aims to improve health by reducing inflammation. BioVanta is part of her goal to create effective antiviral treatments.
