BJP functionary granted bail under POCSO Act

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has granted bail to BJP functionary Sahirsha, arrested under the POCSO Act in 2024. He was accused of sending inappropriate messages and images to a minor. Sahirsha, who claims innocence, has been in custody since January 13. The court noted his age and time served before granting bail with conditions. He must provide his residential address and mobile number to the court and report daily to the Egmore police station in Chennai until further notice.
