BJP leader advises Mirwaiz to avoid comments on India's foreign policy
BJP leader Kavinder Gupta advised Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to refrain from commenting on India's foreign policy, asserting that the government can manage relations with Pakistan. This follows Mirwaiz's hopes for positive discussions at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation meeting. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will attend the SCO meeting in Pakistan on October 15-16. He clarified that his focus will be on the multilateral event, not on India-Pakistan relations, despite media interest. Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah expressed optimism that Jaishankar's participation could foster better ties between India and Pakistan. The National Conference welcomed the government's decision to engage in dialogue with neighboring countries.
