BJP leader Dilip Ghosh threatens woman during protest
Dilip Ghosh, a former BJP leader from West Bengal, faced severe criticism during a road inauguration in Kharagpur on March 21. Local women protested against him, questioning why he had not been present during his time as an MP. They highlighted the role of a Trinamool Congress councillor, Pradeep Sarkar, in the road project. As tensions rose, Ghosh became irritated and claimed that the project’s funding came from him, not from “anyone’s father.” When a woman challenged him, he reacted aggressively, threatening to "strangle" her if she did not stop yelling. This escalated the crowd's anger. BJP workers and security personnel tried to calm the situation, but it soon spiraled out of control. Ghosh referred to the protesters as “TMC dogs everywhere” before they surrounded his vehicle, some even hitting it. The police arrived, and Ghosh had to leave the scene as tensions continued to rise. This incident is not Ghosh's first controversy. Last year, he received a show-cause notice from his party for indecent remarks about West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The BJP condemned his statements, emphasizing that they went against the party’s policies.
