BJP reports highest income among national parties for 2023-24 at Rs 4,340.47 crore

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reported the highest income among national parties for the financial year 2023-24, totaling Rs 4,340.47 crore. This amount represents 74.57% of the total income of six national parties, according to the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR). The Congress party reported an income of Rs 1,225.12 crore, spending 83.69% of it. The BJP spent only 50.96% of its income. A significant portion of the income for these parties came from donations through electoral bonds. The Supreme Court previously ruled the electoral bond scheme unconstitutional. In the 2023-24 fiscal year, national parties redeemed Rs 4,507.56 crore in electoral bonds, with Rs 2,524.14 crore coming from the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party.
