BJP's Suvendu Adhikari urges Hindu unity for elections
BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari is urging Hindus to unite ahead of the 2026 West Bengal assembly elections. He held a 'sanatani' solidarity rally in Haldia, where hundreds of supporters participated. The aim of the rally is to challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) government led by Mamata Banerjee. Adhikari claims the TMC has policies that favor certain communities and accused them of ignoring violence against Hindus. He linked the rally to recent attacks on Hindus during the Holi festival and called for increased Hindu voter turnout to ensure a BJP victory in the upcoming elections. He criticized Banerjee for her comments about the Ram temple in Ayodhya and for holding rallies that he believes insult Hindus. Adhikari also mentioned concerns about the decreasing Hindu population in Bangladesh and warned against allowing similar conditions in West Bengal. The BJP leader emphasized the need for safety and employment opportunities in the state. He criticized the TMC government for creating joblessness among youth and questioned its commitment to women's safety. Adhikari concluded by stating his willingness to fight for his beliefs, calling the government's actions undemocratic.
