Blackburn Museum announces major exhibition following upgrades
Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery will host a major national art exhibition, featuring the largest number of loans from the British Library to a non-London institution. This follows a £445,000 upgrade approved by local councillors. The funding for the refurbishment comes from a government rebate. The improvements will enhance the Hart Gallery displays, security, and visitor facilities, allowing the museum to meet the British Library's loan conditions. Councillors noted the importance of supporting the museum during past austerity measures. They highlighted the museum's growth and ability to host significant exhibitions, showcasing its value to the community.
