Blackhawks and Blues prepare for Winter Classic at Wrigley Field
The Chicago Blackhawks traveled to Wrigley Field on Tuesday via the city's elevated train for the Winter Classic against the St. Louis Blues. Players wore custom gear and enjoyed the unique experience of commuting like fans do for Cubs games. The Blues honored Wayne Gretzky with special attire featuring "99" and "GRETZKY’S BASEMENT." This gesture recognized his contributions to hockey and the St. Louis community, according to defenseman Justin Faulk. This Winter Classic marks the 16th outdoor game and the second at Wrigley Field, which previously hosted the event in 2009. The matchup is a rematch of the 2017 Winter Classic, where the Blues defeated the Blackhawks.
