Blake Snell joins MLB's highest-paid players list
Juan Soto of the New York Mets and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers are the highest-paid players in Major League Baseball for 2025. Soto's long contract is worth nearly $129 million over 15 years, while Ohtani's earnings, including endorsements, are around $102 million. Blake Snell has joined this exclusive group with a huge $52 million signing bonus. He signed a five-year contract worth $182 million with the Dodgers in December. This signing bonus positions him just behind Soto and Ohtani in total earnings for this year, as he is expected to make about $65 million. Soto leads the list based on his salary and signing bonus. Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees ranks fourth, earning around $47 million, with $40 million from his salary alone. Snell is a left-handed pitcher and a two-time CY Young Award winner. Snell became a free agent by turning down an option from the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers' star-studded rotation now includes Snell along with Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The team also signed Roki Sasaki, who made his MLB debut recently. Snell has previously played for teams like the Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Padres.
