Blue Jackets aim to break six-game losing streak
Four NHL games are scheduled for Monday, each affecting playoff standings. The Vancouver Canucks will face the New Jersey Devils at 7:30 p.m. ET. Quinn Hughes of the Canucks is having a strong season with 67 points. However, Vancouver has struggled lately, losing three of their last four games. The Devils, who are missing their star center Jack Hughes due to injury, also need a win to improve their playoff position. At the same time, the Columbus Blue Jackets are looking to stop a six-game losing streak against the New York Islanders. The Blue Jackets are behind in playoff contention and need to turn things around quickly. The Islanders, however, are only two points behind a wild card spot and are looking to build on their recent form. The Minnesota Wild will take on the Dallas Stars at 8 p.m. ET. The Wild have been in good form, winning their last three games. They are currently holding the first wild card spot in the Western Conference. The Stars are doing well too, sitting comfortably in their division. Another game features the Detroit Red Wings against the Utah Hockey Club at 9 p.m. ET. The Red Wings have struggled recently, while Utah has been performing well at home. Last night, there were seven games, all crucial for playoff implications. The Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, while the Buffalo Sabres upset the Winnipeg Jets. The Florida Panthers won in a shootout against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and several other teams also fought hard for critical points as the playoff race tightens.
