Bluesky crashes as two million users join in response to Musk's cabinet appointment
Bluesky, a liberal social media platform, experienced a crash after two million new users joined in response to Elon Musk's appointment to Donald Trump's cabinet. The site temporarily went into read-only mode due to the surge in traffic. Since Musk's announcement on Tuesday, Bluesky's active users have doubled. In contrast, Twitter, now called X, saw a record number of 115,000 users deactivate their accounts on the same day. Bluesky has become the top app in the iPhone App Store, while X has dropped to 25th place. The shift reflects a growing trend of users leaving Twitter for platforms perceived as more liberal.
