BMW M5 Touring sales exceed expectations in U.S
BMW has launched the M5 Touring in the United States for the first time, and the response has been strong. The company expected most buyers to prefer the M5 sedan over the wagon. Instead, the demand for both models is equal, with production now split 50:50. Sylvia Neubauer, BMW’s Vice President of Sales, shared that the initial plan was to produce more sedans than wagons. However, both versions are selling well. BMW is now increasing production for both models. Neubauer noted, “There’s more demand for the sedan... But there’s even more demand for the Touring.” The 2025 M5 Touring features a powerful hybrid V-8 engine, generating 717 horsepower. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds. Despite its weight of 5,530 pounds, it offers about 25 miles of electric-only driving. While the M5 Touring is doing well, it does not guarantee that the M3 Touring will be available in the U.S. However, BMW sees potential. VP of product Andreas Meyer mentioned that a successful M5 Touring might lead to the M3 Touring being available in the future. For now, buyers will need to wait and see.
