Body found near Santa Fe Trailhead in Monument
A man's body was discovered on March 19 near the Santa Fe Trailhead in Monument, according to the local police. They received the first report around 2:04 p.m. The body was located near Third Street and Vista Montana Lane. Authorities currently find no evidence of foul play, and the cause of death will be determined by the El Paso County Coroner's Office. The 22nd annual Spirits of Spring event is set for April 9 at The Antlers Hotel. A bow hunter made the discovery, and investigators believe the skull belonged to a man who died at least five years prior.
