Bomb cyclone set to bring severe weather to West Coast this week
A powerful low-pressure system, known as a "bomb cyclone," is set to impact the West Coast from November 19 to 21. This storm will bring extreme winds, heavy rain, and snowfall to northern California, Oregon, and Washington. The NOAA's satellite captured a timelapse of the cyclone, which is rapidly intensifying. It could become one of the strongest low-pressure systems recorded in the region, generating hurricane-force winds and waves up to 60 feet. The cyclone forms when warm and cold air masses collide, causing a drop in pressure. This process pulls tropical moisture northward, leading to intense rainfall and flash floods.
