Bomb threat disrupts Office of Vice President Duterte
The Office of Vice President Sara Duterte faced a disruption on Monday due to a bomb threat. Staff were evacuated after a team member reported receiving a threatening text message. The Vice President's office was relocated to a secure area in Robinsons Cybergate Plaza, Mandaluyong City. Authorities quickly sent an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team to search the premises for explosives. No bombs were found, and operations resumed at 4 p.m. The Office of the Vice President emphasized that bomb threats are serious issues that threaten public safety. Additionally, they warned that making false bomb threats is illegal and can have severe consequences under the Anti-Bomb Joke Law. At the time of the incident, Sara Duterte was in The Hague visiting her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is undergoing trial at the International Criminal Court.
