Bootle comedian exceeds life expectancy after cancer diagnosis
Allan Finnegan, a 56-year-old comedian from Bootle, was diagnosed with ocular melanoma in December 2023 and given 12 months to live. He has since received new treatments funded by a GoFundMe campaign, allowing him to live beyond that initial prognosis. Despite his diagnosis, Allan has adopted a positive outlook, enjoying life and planning for the future. He has raised £143,000 for treatments, including chemosaturation therapy, and is participating in a drug trial. Allan has not performed stand-up comedy since his diagnosis but is considering returning to the stage. He expressed gratitude for the support he has received from both friends and strangers during this challenging time.
