Boston officer apprehends juvenile shooter, recovers gun

An off-duty Boston police officer helped stop a shooting on March 19. The officer was leaving work around 4 P.M. when he heard gunshots near Dudley Street. The officer got out of his car to find the source of the noise. He quickly spotted a suspect in the street. When the suspect saw the officer, he ran away, and the officer began to chase him. During the chase, the officer saw that the suspect was holding something at his waistband. The pursuit ended at Shabaz Way and Eustis Street, where the officer caught the suspect. He found a firearm on the juvenile, which was identified as a ghost gun with seven rounds of ammunition.
