Boulder High School hosts St. Baldrick's fundraising event
Boulder High School is hosting a St. Baldrick’s event today at 4 p.m. in the school gym. This charity event encourages volunteers to shave their heads to help raise money for childhood cancer research. The goal this year is to collect $100,000, following last year’s fundraising achievements of over $72,000 and $93,000 in 2023. It starts at 3:30 p.m. in the Boulder Creek Meeting Room. This event is for anyone who needs help with their sewing projects or simply wants to enjoy some creative time. The library has a limited number of sewing machines available. A concert featuring the Renova New Music Ensemble will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Grusin Music Hall within the CU Boulder campus. Later in the evening, The High Kings are set to perform at the Boulder Theater at 8 p.m. The group is known for their Irish folk music and features members Finbarr Clancy, Darren Holden, Paul O’Brien, and Brian Dunphy. Also on Thursday, the Thompson Jazz Big Bands will perform at Grusin Music Hall at 7:30 p.m. This concert celebrates the career of Associate Professor of Jazz Studies Paul McKee, who will retire soon. It is free to attend. Finally, on Friday, movie lovers can enjoy a screening of “A Face in the Crowd” at 1 p.m. at the Boulder Public Library. The film lasts about two hours, and coffee will be served. Additionally, the Boulder Ballet will perform “Revived” at 7 p.m. at the Dairy Arts Center.
