Brad Pitt executive produces Netflix series "Adolescence."
Fans of Netflix's new series, Adolescence, were surprised to learn about a connection between the show and Hollywood star Brad Pitt. The crime drama, which premiered on March 13, has quickly gained attention for its engaging storytelling. The four-part series tells the story of Jamie, a schoolboy played by Owen Cooper, who is arrested for the murder of his classmate, Katie. Stephen Graham plays Jamie's father, Eddie Miller, while Christine Tremarco plays his mother. Ashley Walters takes on the role of Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe, who is leading the investigation. Adolescence has been praised for addressing issues like misogyny among young boys. However, some viewers were more intrigued by the fact that Brad Pitt is listed as an executive producer for the show. Fans took to social media, expressing their astonishment at his involvement. One user wrote, “Brad Pitt producing Adolescence is crazy, what?” Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment, co-produced the series with Warp Films and Matriarch Productions. Although Brad Pitt does not appear in the show, his role as an executive producer means he helped with its development. Director Philip Barantini confirmed this, noting that Pitt was enthusiastic about the project during their conversations. This collaboration is not new for Barantini, who has previously worked with Plan B on other notable films, including Troy and The Departed.
