Brady Wehner named Trib HSSN player of the week

Brady Wehner, a sophomore guard from North Catholic, has been named the Trib HSSN girls basketball player of the week. She has played a crucial role in her team, especially after many key players graduated last season. Wehner has been the top scorer for North Catholic, even as the team faced tough competition in the PIAA Class 4A playoffs. They reached the semifinals, with Wehner leading the scoring in all three state playoff wins. She scored 13 points in the first round against Penn Cambria, 18 points against Harbor Creek, and 17 points in a victory over Blackhawk. This season, Wehner averaged 15 points per game and helped her team share the Section 1-4A title. She has aspirations to continue playing basketball at a higher level in the future. Wehner comes from a family of athletes, with both parents and older siblings involved in different sports. Her coach, Molly Rottman, praised her versatility and determination on the court. Rottman noted that Wehner's confidence has grown, making her a key player against strong defenses. Wehner's hard work during the summer and her leadership in practice have also been highlighted as factors in her success.
