Braves likely to part ways with Bryce Elder
The Atlanta Braves are expected to part ways with starting pitcher Bryce Elder next season. Once a promising talent, Elder's performance has declined significantly. Elder debuted with the Braves in 2022 and had a strong start, pitching 54 innings. In 2023, he was even better, achieving a 3.81 ERA and earning an All-Star selection. However, his 2024 season was tough, with an ERA over 6.50 that resulted in him spending most of the season in the minor leagues. Spencer Schwellenbach filled Elder's spot in the rotation and performed well. Given this, analysts predict limited chances for Elder to return to the big leagues. Some believe the Braves will trade him during the 2025 deadline or not re-sign him after the season. For Elder, a new team might offer a fresh start. He would need to show improvement in the minors first, but it seems unlikely that he will continue with the Braves.
