Summary: Brazil will impose entry restrictions on certain Asian nationals starting Monday, targeting migrants using the country as a transit point to the U.S. and Canada. Over 70% of refuge requests at São Paulo's airport come from Indian, Nepalese, and Vietnamese nationals. In 2023, Brazil received 9,082 refuge requests, more than double the previous year, amid concerns over migrant smuggling and human trafficking.
