Brazilian police arrest five in alleged assassination plot against president Lula
Brazilian police arrested five people on Tuesday in connection with an alleged plot to kill president-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and his vice-president, Geraldo Alckmin. This is the first time such a plot has been mentioned in the investigation. The suspects, mostly military personnel with Special Forces training, reportedly had a plan called "Green and Yellow Dagger." This plan aimed to assassinate the elected leaders on December 15, 2022. Police executed five arrest warrants and conducted three search and seizure operations. Additional measures included banning suspects from contacting each other and restricting their travel outside the country.
