Bricklayer confesses to murder in Germany, hides body
A 40-year-old bricklayer from Poland, Jerzy Jozef D., has confessed to killing a homeless man named Ralf L., 61. He admitted to hitting Ralf with a bicycle battery and then dismembering the body, which he kept in a freezer for almost a year. Jerzy was arrested after getting into a fight at a train station. When police searched his apartment in Verl, Germany, they found a cannabis plantation and eventually discovered the victim's remains in the freezer. An officer stated they could see parts of the body immediately. In a letter he provided to a psychiatrist, Jerzy described the attack, stating that while Ralf was still alive, he thought about the consequences and continued to beat him. He referred to the sound of breaking bones as the worst part of the act. Forensic experts could not pinpoint Ralf's time of death, but he had been missing for nearly a year. Neighbors reported that Jerzy was known for being aggressive, especially when drinking. He is currently on trial at Bielefeld Regional Court and could face life in prison.
