Bride's Hepburn-inspired dress dazzles at Chihuahua wedding
Andrea Fernández wore a wedding dress inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s style, designed by Emilia Wickstead. The dress echoed a look Hepburn wore to a 1959 premiere. Andrea and Benjamin A. Coppel first met in college. Despite a brief encounter, Benjamin envisioned a future together. Twelve years later, he texted Andrea to ask her on a date, ending with, “And then just maybe, we live happily ever after, sounds good?” She replied, “Sounds like a plan.” They started dating in Los Angeles and later explored their relationship through art and travel. For their wedding, the couple wanted a personal and meaningful venue. Andrea chose her father’s childhood home in Chihuahua, Mexico. She wanted a place where they could share memories with future generations. The home was filled with warmth and family traditions, making it the ideal spot for their intimate celebration. They envisioned an elegant reception reminiscent of the 1950s. Andrea wanted it to reflect her grandmother’s style while adding a modern touch. Their wedding planners successfully mixed nostalgia with contemporary elements. When thinking of her dress, Audrey Hepburn inspired Andrea immediately. She recalled a photo of Hepburn in a Givenchy gown and shared her vision with bridal stylist Gabrielle Hurwitz. Gabrielle quickly understood Andrea’s desire and introduced her to Emilia Wickstead. Andrea fell in love with the designer's work and visited London for fittings of her ivory silk gown. To complete her look, Andrea wore Jimmy Choo shoes and Cartier earrings gifted by Benjamin. The groom, Benjamin, chose a classic Tom Ford tuxedo for the occasion. Their wedding was a beautiful blend of personal history and timeless elegance.
