British Airways schedules A380s on seven routes in April

British Airways plans to make extensive use of its Airbus A380 aircraft in April 2025. The airline will operate a total of 480 flights using these planes, providing more than 225,000 seats over the month. This is a slight reduction from March when it scheduled 497 flights. A key route for British Airways will be between London Heathrow and San Francisco, where it will operate two flights daily. This marks a significant increase from March's schedule, which had just one daily flight. The airline faces competition from United Airlines and Virgin Atlantic on this popular transatlantic route. In addition to San Francisco, British Airways will use its A380s for daily flights to several other U.S. cities. These include Boston, Washington, Miami, and Los Angeles, all of which compete with other airlines on these routes. The airline is taking advantage of high demand across the Atlantic. Beyond the U.S., BA will fly its A380s to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Singapore. The Singapore route is notable, as it is also serviced by Qantas and Singapore Airlines with their A380s. This makes it a highly competitive route. British Airways has 12 A380s in its fleet, making it the largest A380 operator in Europe. These aircraft can carry up to 469 passengers and offer four classes of service, including First class, Business class, Premium Economy, and Economy. The cabins are designed to provide comfort over long journeys. Overall, British Airways is strategically using its A380 fleet to meet strong demand on key long-haul routes, particularly to the United States and select destinations in Asia and Africa.
